Atomic Garden Sessions

Atomic Garden Sessions, a three-track EP set to release on February 11th, marking the 5th anniversary of Kandur’s debut EP “Fantasy”, and symbolizes the closing of 5 year-long San Franciscan chapter of his career.

The first track, Divide is a very direct telling of Kandur’s feelings upon battling with depression and deciding to leave San Francisco. Before doing so, he enters the “Atomic Garden Studios” to cut three tracks with Jesse Nichols (who engineered mixed and mastered Kandur’s debut EP Fantasy) and Diana Cordero, Kandur’s live drummer at the time.

The second track, Rumi has been released in 2019 as a celebration of Kandur returning back to his hometown of Istanbul first time in many years. Set to a droning neo-psych tune, the song chants the mantra of Seven Pieces of Advice by Rumi in Kandur’s native tongue Turkish. Find out more >

The closing track, She Said has been a live show favorite for many years, it is a classic rocker that tells the story of a romantic relationship getting slowly toxic.

Lviv Times

Half a year long search for a new home after moving out of San Francisco in the end of 2018, I’ve set up my new base in the historic old town of Lviv, Ukraine. After exploring the local music scene by joining various jam sessions and networking with community leaders, I’ve gathered a band of likeminded musicians and started performing. Even during the pandemic we were able to go out and perform in small clubs, festival stages and everything in between in Lviv, Kyiv, Kaniv and Istanbul.

"For a guitar-centric record, it doesn't get much better than this." Jessie Schiewe, SF Weekly

When the political climate in his home of Istanbul started to take drastic turns for the worse, Ilker Kandur decided to relocate himself to one of the western world’s most historically progressive locales, and the home of many of his musical influences, San Francisco.

Teaming up with Berkeley’s legendary Fantasy Studios to handle production duties, Kandur was partnered with Dawn Richardson (4 Non Blondes, Tracy Chapman) on the drums and the pair immediately bonded over classic rock influences. The resulting EP, aptly titled Fantasy, features four heavy-hitting-yet-melodic alternative rock tracks that span the breadth of their creator’s influences.
