Bio
Kandur is a musician and songwriter, originally from Istanbul, best known for his captivating live performances and powerful rock n' roll sound. After moving to Kyiv for university in 2004, he began playing in various bands and quickly made a name for himself in the local music scene.
For years, Kandur honed his craft, playing with other bands and performing with his cover band. In 2013, he moved to San Francisco to pursue a career as a solo artist. During his 5 years there, he toured extensively, recorded new music, and shared the stage with some of his rock n' roll heroes.
Kandur released "Did You Ever" and "Save Me" singles in 2016, followed by the "Fantasy" EP in 2017, all of which were well-received by fans and critics alike. After moving back to Ukraine in 2019, he released the "Rumi" single and the "Atomic Garden Sessions" EP. However, shortly after the release of his EP, he had to leave Lviv with his family due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and they lived as refugees in Poland before settling in London.
Despite these challenges, Kandur remains focused on his music, and his upcoming release, "Who (Let Me Show You Around)," is a tribute to his Ukrainian bandmates and a celebration of playing with drummer Adam Lozynskyy, keyboardist Yevhen Kyrylenko and bassist Sviatoslav Tkachuk. The track was recorded in SoundPlant Studios Kyiv in August 2021 and showcases Kandur and his band's groovy, stoner-psychedelic inspired sound.
With each release, Kandur continues to evolve as an artist, drawing inspiration from his diverse cultural background and his experiences living in different parts of the world. His music speaks to people of all ages and backgrounds, and he remains committed to sharing his passion for rock n' roll with audiences around the globe.
